Immersioni Guidate
Con la nuova disponibilità del gommone ALTAMAREA da 7,20 mt, motorizzato Honda da 225 cv, si programma una sola immersione alla mattina per sfruttare le migliori condizioni di luce. L’appuntamento è per le ore 09.30 presso la sede del diving per un max di 10 subacquei, divisi in due gruppi e con due guide dello staff al seguito.
Preparazione delle attrezzature e quindi partenza verso il sito di immersione prescelto per le ore 10.00. Nei limiti del possibile si suddividono i partecipanti all’immersione secondo il livello di brevetto/esperienza, per un massimo, comunque, di 5 subacquei per gruppo, Un altro collaboratore del diving rimane invece sempre a bordo gommone durante le immersioni, per fornire adeguata assistenza ai subacquei, sia durante le operazioni di discesa che di risalita sul mezzo nautico.
A proposito di sicurezza, sempre in acqua, durante le immersioni, si troverà posizionata, a -5 mt, una bombola da 10 lt con 4 erogatori, utile ad eventuali esigenze dei subacquei in fase di sosta di sicurezza o tappa di decompressione. A bordo del gommone è sempre presente il kit ossigeno.
Da quest’anno ci sarà inoltre la possibilità di esplorare anche altri relitti, oltre quello della Carboniera, presenti nei fondali delle Isole Eolie e dello stretto di Messina. A breve saranno presentate sul sito tali novità, in apposite sezioni.
Attrezzatura
Per chi non ne fosse provvisto presso il diving si potrà noleggiare tutta l’attrezzatura completa della Scubapro, nonché provare le ultima novità del settore (nuovi erogatori, gav, pinne, torce) naturalmente della Scubapro.
Notturne
Una volta la settimana da Luglio in poi o previa organizzazione con il gruppo interessato a tale immersione.
Biologia Marina
Per gli appassionati del settore, Gianfranco, istruttore e biologo dello staff Aquatica, organizza immersioni specifiche, mirate alla conoscenza della fauna e flora marina, con lezioni teoriche finali. Possibilità di organizzare fine settimana dedicati a tale scopo per i docenti e gli studenti delle facoltà di biologia marina.

Per il visitatore subacqueo il paesaggio sommerso di Capo Milazzo è descritto da un’ampia varietà di habitat e di specie che si manifestano attraverso una vasta gamma di colori e forme.
Di particolare effetto sono le foreste di Eunicella stricta, una piccola gorgonia bianca, erigentisi verticalmente dalle spianate orizzontali di roccia e le Gorgonie rosse (Paramuricea clavata) che con i loro polipi disposti a ventaglio catturano i microscopici organismi che si spostano trasportati dalle correnti.
I siti di maggior bellezza sono le "secche", massicci rocciosi che si ergono a nord-ovest e a nord-est del promontorio, strapiombanti fino a -50 m, in acque agitate da forti correnti che alimentano comunità lussureggianti di spugne, coralli e madrepore.
Tra le caratteristiche ambientali dell’area si sottolinea la presenza di specie e comunità animali e vegetali inserite nelle Normative Nazionali, Direttive Europee (Habitat all. 2,3,4) e Convenzioni Internazionali (Berna, Cites) che stabiliscono misure di protezione e conservazione, vietandone il prelievo e il danneggiamento dei siti.

» NOTE
- Il numero max di partecipanti ad ogni immersione guidata è di nr. 5 subacquei, con due guide sub,al fine di garantire massima sicurezza e divertimento;
- Nel caso non ci si immerga da molto tempo, prima di effettuare immersioni guidate in gommone, sarà opportuno effettuare un'immersione/refresh da terra (max prof. 10 mt) per riprendere padronanza con l'attrezzatura, l'assetto ed alcuni degi esercizi fondamentali;
- Per le immersioni o noleggio delle bombole i partecipanti dovranno presentare il brevetto posseduto;
- Durante le immersioni verrà rispettata la profondità max di mt. 18 per i brevettati OWD, di mt. 30 per gli AOWD e di mt. 39 per gli AOWD in possesso di brevetto di specialità “DEEP”, secondo gli standard IDEA-RSTC;
- Per le immersioni effettuate con lo Staff di Aquatica il noleggio dell’attrezzatura completa, ad eccezione di torcia e computer, sarà di soli 15 € .
- Per accedere ai corsi subacquei sopra indicati è obbligatorio presentare certificato medico-sportivo specifico (per attività sub) emesso non più di 3 mesi prima, che indichi chiaramente la mancanza di controindicazioni all’attività subacquea.
- Per la sola frequenza dei corsi o battesimi sub l’Associazione mette a disposizione dei partecipanti, gratuitamente, tutta l’attrezzatura necessaria (muta, jacket, erogatore, bombola, etc)

I siti di immersione

» RIVA SMERALDA

Immersione facile / profondità Max 10 Mt. /visibilità ottima / adatta ai principianti.
Immersione priva di difficoltà che, partendo dalla spiaggia, si snoda attraverso un percorso misto di sabbia, roccia e Posidonia. Sito ideale per effettuare i battesimi del mare, le esercitazioni durante i corsi Open Water Diver, i Refresh e le immersioni notturne. Possibilità di incontrare polpi, piccole ricciole, saraghi e occhiate. Caratteristici percorsi con piccoli sottopassaggi tra gli scogli.

» CARBONIERA

Impegnativa / profondità tra i 45 Max 50 Mt. / corrente nulla /visibilità buona
Immersione nel blu fino ai 40 mt circa, dopodichè si apre lo splendido scenario del relitto affondato durante la seconda guerra mondiale e giacente sulla sabbia a circa 500 mt dalla costa e che si trova in pessimo stato di conservazione. Tutto intorno a ciò che resta del relitto si trovano grossi blocchi di carbone che costituivano il carico della nave. La fauna in prossimità del relitto è molto ricca e si possono vedere grosse cernie e musdele, aragoste, gronghi. Sito raccomandato per gli appassionati della profondità, ma in sicurezza!

» PUNTA RUGNO

Immersione tecnica / profondità Max 60 Mt. /visibilità buona.
Discesa rapida e sabbiosa fino a circa 30 metri. Oltre tale profondità la parete si presenta rocciosa, con franate e spaccature dove si possono vedere cernie, dotti e polpi.
L’immersione non presenta grandi difficoltà. Negli anfratti è possibile osservare una variegata fauna incrostante (spugne, madrepore etc).

» SECCA DI LEVANTE

Immersione impegnativa / profondità Min 22 Max 42 Mt. / corrente /visibilità buona.
Immersione nel blu. Le pareti della secca presentano molte spaccature, anfratti e grotte suggestive, si incontrano, cernie, saraghi, ricciole. Di particolare bellezza è l’immersione dentro la grotta che si inoltre per circa 30 metri all’interno della secca. Le pareti sono tappezzate di spugne di notevoli dimensioni, briozoi, conchiglie. Sito raccomandato per gli appassionati di fotografia subacquea

» PUNTA TONO

Immersione facile / profondità Min 6 Mt. Max 22 Mt. /vis. buona
Immersione priva di difficoltà, con numerosi anfratti nella roccia che accolgono una ricca fauna. La profondità massima è di circa 22 metri. E’ un sito raccomandato anche per lo snorkeling. La fascia di Astroides calycularis cresce rigogliosa immediatamente sotto la superficie, in migliaia di individui rosso arancione dall’aspetto floreale di altissimo impatto estetico.
La parete rocciosa della costa cade verticalmente sul fondo detritico dove si impianta la prateria di Posidonia.

» SECCA DI PONENTE

Immersione nel blu / profondità Min 12 Max 40 Mt. / possibilità di corrente /visibilità buona.
A largo di Punta Milazzese un'altra secca si innalza da profondità superiori ai 40 metri fino ad arrivare a soli 12 metri dalla superficie. E' la Secca di Ponente, più piccola ed isolata di quella di Levante, ma con un habitat ugualmente ricco di vita. Immersione assolutamente straordinaria grazie alle sue caratteristiche morfologiche che creano le condizioni ideali per molte specie ittiche. Intorno ai 30-35 mt, le pareti sono ricoperte da gorgonie rosse. Sono presenti molte grotte con corvine, cernie, saraghi, ricciole.Ultimamente sempre più presenti piccoli branchi di barracuda.

» GAMBA DI DONNA

Immersione facile / profondità Max 30 Mt. / corrente leggera /visibilità buona.
L’esposizione diretta a nord e la bassa luminosità dei fondali a strapiombo favoriscono lo sviluppo di una fauna di notevole interesse naturalistico. Immersione con un itinerario molto vario (fenditure, anfratti, grossi massi) e fondale ricco di posidonia. Molto probabili gli incontri con saraghi, cernie e polpi. L’immersione è adatta sia ai subacquei esperti sia a quelli che preferiscono raggiungere profondità meno elevate. L’immersione si conclude con l’ingresso nella piccola e suggestiva grotta di Gamba di Donna. E’ un sito consigliato anche per le attività di snorkeling.

» CARCIOFO (scoglio della portella)

Immersione a diff. media / profondità Max 40 Mt. / possibilità di corrente /vis. ottima.
Sito di notevole interesse in cui è possibile effettuare più percorsi subacquei. Il punto di partenza dei vari percorsi è in prossimità della seicentesca Torre del Palombaro (vecchia torre a protezione della Tonnara). Paesaggi suggestivi, caratterizzati da numerosi anfratti, piccole grotte e grossi scogli con cernie e gorgonie. Caratteristico è lo scoglio del Monaco dalla cui sommità è possibile osservare il passaggio di grandi pesci pelagici.

» GROTTA "CRISTO DEGLI ABISSI"

Immersione facile / profondità Min 6 Mt. Max 22 Mt. / corrente nulla /vis. ottima.
Immersione adatta anche ai principianti, per i quali può rappresentare una prima immersione in grotta. La grotta si trova sotto le pendici di Monte Trino, l'ingresso è a 21 metri ed al suo interno è possibile osservare una ricca fauna composta prevalentemente da spugne che sono i principali colonizzatori di questi ambienti poco illuminati..Al suo interno, molto vasto, è presente la statua del Cristo, posizionata anni addietro da un gruppo di subacquei.

» TORRE DEL PALOMBARO

Immersione diff. media / profondità Max 25 Mt. / corrente media /vis. buona.
All’interno della Baia di S.Antonio, dai fondali bassi, ma non per questo meno interessanti, si snoda l’itinerario subacqueo. I piccoli scogli si alternano alla prateria di Posidonia oceanica che si estende verso il largo, fino ad una profondità di 20/25 metri dove, in prossimità di grandi scogli, è possibile osservare saraghi, murene, scorfani e pesci pelagici. Il percorso si conclude mantenendosi in parallelo alla linea di costa, ammirando la rigogliosa fauna bentonica.

Our Immersions

Guided immersions
With our new rib ALTAMAREA da 7,20 mt, with a motor Honda 225 hp, there will be just one immersion in the morning to take advantage of the better light conditions. The meeting hours for the immersions are 09.30 a-m. at our headquarters, up to 10 scuba divers, divided in two groups and accompanied by two guides of our staff.
As soon as the equipment is prepared, we will leave for the chosen immersion point by 10.00 a.m. Within our possibilities, groups are divided in accordance with the scuba-diving certificate or in accordance to the experience in the field, however, a group is composed of five persons. Another scuba-diving collaborator that stays at the board of inflatable boat in order to give assistance to the scuba-divers gettino ready to dive, as well as helping them get back at the inflatable boat.
About security, during the dive, 5 mt dephts, will always be positioned a tank of 10 liters with 4 valve, helpful to those divers in stage safety stop or in decompression phase. On board there will always be the oxygen kit.
The immersion on the SECCA DI LEVANTE (mainly in the grotto) and on the RELITTO DELLA CARBONIERA (in Milazzo), for the peculiarity of both sites, can be made with a group of no more than 5 divers.
This year there will be the possibility to explore other wreckages in the seabed of the Aeolian Islands and of the Strait of Messina. There will be a special link on our website for these new soon.

Equipment
For those who do not have the equipment, you can rent all the Scubapro equipment at the diving full, as well as try the latest industry news (new valves, gav, fins, torches), all of Scubapro.

Evening Immersions
To be programmed on ground weekly from July on, or prior arrangement, with the concerned group.

Marine Biology
For those who are passionate in this field, Gianfranco, diving instructor and biologist of the Acquatica staff, can organize specific diving, targeted to the knowledge of marine fauna and flora, with final theory lessons. There is the possibility to organize weekend dedicated to this purpose for teachers and students of the faculty of marine biology.

The seabed of Capo Milazzo is described by a very large variety of habitats and species that shows themselves through an impressive range of colours and shapes to the scuba-divers. Beautiful to see are the forests of Eucinella Stricta, a small white gorgonian, that vertically erects itself from the levelled horizontal rocks, and the red Gorgonia (Paramuricea clavata) that with its fan arranged octopus capture microscopic organisms carried by the currents. The most amazing sites are the “shoals”, massive rocky that rise North-East and North-West of the promontory, that overhangs to a depth of 50 meters in waters troubled by currents, that feed community of sponges, corals and madrepores. Note in this environmental habitat the presence of animal and plant species included in the National Regulations, and European Directives (Habitat all. 2,3,4) and International Agreements (Berna, Cites) that establish measures and take steps to protect and preserve these species, forbidding the collecting and the damaging of the sites.

>> NOTES
- The maximum number of participants for each guided immersion is of 5 divers with one or two guides from the staff, with the aim of guaranteeing the maximum safety and entertainment;
- In case an immersion has not been effectuated for a long period of time, before doing guided immersions on an inflatable boat, it is advisable to do an immersion/refresh from the ground (depth max 10 Mt) in order to properly own the equipment, with the buoyancy;
- To do the immersions or rent of tanks, the participants must show their certificate;
- During immersions the depth of 18 Mt must be respected for those who have the OWD certificate, 30Mt for those who have the AOWD certificate, and 39 Mt for those who have the diving certificate as “DEEP”, in accordance with the standards of IDEA-RSTC;
- For the immersions made with the Aquatica Staff, the rent of complete equipments, with the exception of torch and personal computer, is €15,00 (fifteen);
- In order to access and attend the above mentioned scuba courses, it is necessary to present a specific medical certificate (for diving activities) released not further than 6 months before the course, which clearly shows the absence of contraindication regarding scuba activity with ARA.
- Only for the attendance of scuba courses or baptism the Association provides participants for free all the needed equipment (suit, jacket, regulator, tank, etc.)

» RIVA SMERALDA

Easy/ depth Max 10 mt/ perfect visibility/ good for beginners
This immersion, which does not represent difficulties, starts from the beach to develop through a mixed route of sand, rocks and Neptune grass. This is the ideal place for the so-called sea baptism, the exercising during the Open Water Diver course and the evening immersions. Octopuses, small sea urchins, white bream and saddle bream. It is also particular for its characteristic routes with short underpasses through the rocks.

» WRECK "CARBONIERA"

Technical / depth between 45 Max 50 Mt. / zero flows /good visibility
Immersion into deep blue up to 40 mt, after that you are welcomed by the beautiful scenery of the Second World War wreck lying on the sand. All around the wreck there are big blocks of coal that were the ship’s cargo. Big groupers can be seen, as well as musdele, sea crawfishes and conger eels. This spectacular place is recommended to those who are passionate about depth, but always safely

» PUNTA RUGNO (The promontory of Rugno)

Technical/ depth Max 60 mt./ visibility good
Fast and sandy slope reaching 30 mt. Apart from this kind of depth a rocky wall is encountered, with splits where one notices the presence of sea bass fish, wreck fish and octopuses. In these split parts it is also possible to view a variegated encrusted fauna (sponges, mother pores etc.). This kind of immersion does not present major difficulties, nonetheless it is open only to those who have a diver certificate, at least the Deep Diver one.

» SECCA DI LEVANTE (The Shallow of Levante)

Medium/ Technical/ depth Min 20 Max 42 Mt/probability of flows/ good visibility.
Immersion into deep blue. Going straight to the end part of the rope of the anchor in order to find the smallest top of the shallow, around 18 mt. The walls of the shallow represent many split parts and small suggestive caves, where it is possible to make diving routes having the possibility to meet sea basses, white breams, sea urchins, congers. The most characteristic part of this wonderful place is the immersion inside the cave reaching 30 mt in the internal part of the shallow. The walls of the shallow are covered by sponges of huge dimensions, bryozoa, shells. This spectacular place is recommended to those who are passionate about diving photography.

» PUNTA TONO (The promontory of Tono)

Easy/ depth Min 6 Mt Max 25 Mt./ good visibility
An immersion that does not represent difficulties, with numerous ravines in the rock which accommodates rich fauna. This place is also recommended for those who like to do snorkelling. The strip of Astroides calycularis grows up immediately under the surface, in thousands of red or orange exemplars of the flowering aspect, which do have an esthetical impact. The rocky part of the coast, at a certain point, falls vertically on the detritus ground where a field of Neptune grass is created.

» SECCA DI PONENTE (The shallow of Ponente)

Easy/Medium/ depth Min 10 mt Max 40 Mt/ possible flows/ good visibility
Along the promontory of Milazzo there is another shallow that raises from a depth superior to 40 metres reaching to only 10 metres from the surface. This is the shallow of Ponente, smaller and more isolated than the shallow of Levante, however with a habitat rich of life. Immersions at this point are definitely extraordinary due to its morphologic characteristics that create the ideal conditions for many ichthyic species and for diving routes. Around the depth of 30-35 Mt, the walls of the shallow and the huge rocks not far from this site are covered by huge sort of vans and red gorgonians. One may also notice the presence of many caves and arches where it can be found brown meagre fish, sea basses, white breams, urchin seas. Recently it has become quite frequent the presence of small gangs of barracuda.

» GAMBA DI DONNA

Easy/ depth Min 10 Mt Max 30 Mt/ light flow/ good visibility
Its exposure towards north and the low level of light of the seabed favour the development of fauna of a notorious naturalistic interest. Immersions include a variety itinerary ( cracks, anfractuosities , massive stones) and a seabed rich of Neptune grass. In this part there is a high chance of meeting white breams, sea basses and octopuses. This kind of immersion is available to those who are already experts and to those that would like to reach a certain level of depth enjoying a colourful scenario. The immersion usually ends with the entrance in the little cave called Gamba di Donna. This site is advisable even for activities such as snorkelling.

» CARCIOFO (the rock of the hatch)

Media/depth Max 40 Mt/ possibility of flows/ good visibility
This site is increasingly interesting with the possibility of doing scuba-diving routes. The starting point is usually the Torre di Palombaro (an old tower of the seventh-century at the protection of the Tonnara), behind the rock called il Carciofo because of its particular shape. Very suggestive landscape, characterised by numerous anfractuosities, small caves, massive rocks with sea basses and gorgonians. It is of a particular characteristic the rock of Monaco, 40 Mt deep, from where it is possible to view the landscape of huge pelagic fish.

» THE CAVE "CRISTO DEGLI ABISSI"

Easy/ depth Min 6 Mt Max 22 Mt/ no flows/ excellent visibility.
This immersion is also available to those who are beginners, for whom this may represent the first immersion in the cave. This cave next to which there is another cave, smaller but to be explored, is situated under the slopes of Monte Trino and in its internal part it is possible to observe rich fauna made by colourful sponges that are the main colonizers of these environments not well illuminated. In its vast internal part, you will find the statute of Jesus Christ, placed there many years ago from a group of divers. In different occasions it have been sighted rays fish that stop at this cave due to its sandy seabed, where they do camouflage.

» PALOMBARO TOWER

Easy/ depth Min 10 Mt Max 25 Mt/ no flows/ good visibility.
Inside the Bay of S. Antonio, from the low and rocky seabed, nonetheless very interesting, it develops a scuba-diving itinerary. Small rocks alter to the field of Neptune grass which extends towards the width, reaching a depth of 20/25 metres, where in proximity of huge rocks, it is possible to observe white breams, morays, scorpionfishes, pelagic fishes. The route ends whilst keeping on a parallel line with the coast, enjoying luxuriant benthic fauna.
